From BeyondVoting
Hello Tom. I noticed your question at the Central Wikicity. This search term does show up for me in full text search. Perhaps you were searching different namespaces (there is an option to change this in your preferences) or perhaps you used the go button instead of the search one? Let me know if it still causes a problem. Angela 03:49, 13 Mar 2005 (GMT)
Hi Tom,
- I couldn't find any Category:
- I couldn't find the Village pump, or Village pump or BeyondVoting:Village pump
- I am just disappointed this wikicity is just only about NYC and not generally on e-democracy captured in BeyondVoting
- I am Dutch and member of the Dutch political party D66
Don't bother, carry on. Dedalus 13:31, 29 Mar 2005 (EST)
Sorry, but there isn't any way to clear the history. This needs to be kept to make sure we are complying with the GFDL. Angela 16:51, 3 Apr 2005 (EDT)

[edit] It is not that hard
The contents of New Tools of Democracy have been moved from the edit box to New Tools of democracy, a new article with no history. Content, but no history is moved by copying. The redirect in New tools of democracy has been adapted. New Tools of Democracy has become a redirect. There was a link in Beyond Voting (found with "What links here" in the left-hand-side sidebar) to New Tools of Democracy. The wiki's in that article has been adapted to [[New Tools of democracy|new tools of democracy]] which appears as new tools of democracy. Now New Tools of Democracy still has the original history. You are sysop. There is a special button somewhere in your screen - "delete page" or something to that effect. Open the page, push that button once. Your done. All the history of New Tools of Democracy has gone. The article appears as a monolith in New Tools of democracy. The history shows it is written by GroundZero 15:05, 4 Apr 2005 (EDT). Wish you succes deleting your history. After deleting you can probable use the "move" tab to "rename" the article back to New Tools of Democracy including the history showing me as the author. You could as well restart the above described procedure yourself of copying the contents and getting rid of the history.
- I really would not recommend this. The benefit of a wiki is that the history is stored, meaning all authors are properly attributed, and bad edits can be reverted. What do you hope to gain from deleting this? Angela 17:02, 4 Apr 2005 (EDT)
[edit] Vote for Deletion
You need to delete Brian Pu-Folkes. Dedalus 02:10, 7 Apr 2005 (EDT)
[edit] Brian Pu-Folkes
Yep, you're right. I didn't notice he was a participant - I thought someone randomly had put a link to his own website on your website. I changed two things. On the seperate page I made the address into a true link. And on the list of participants I added also a direct external link. And, please do sign with four tildes, Dedalus 02:56, 9 Apr 2005 (EDT)
[edit] Recent changes
Hi Tom. I noticed you added a comment to MediaWiki:Showhideminor. This is a page in the MediaWiki namespace, which affects the inferface of the site, so it's not a good idea to add a comment to such a page unless you know what it does. MediaWiki:Showhideminor adds links to Special:Recentchanges that allow you to filter recent changes according to whether those changes are minor/made by you/made by a logged in user etc. See Wikicities:Help:Recent changes for details on this. [edit] Wikicities in the news
Congratulations on getting this wiki in the news! There's a nice article about BeyondVoting on fcw.com today. Angela (talk) 14:10, 13 Jun 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Featured Wikicity
Hi. There was a vote for Beyond Voting to be a Featured Wikicity, but it was entered by someone who was not logged in, so it will not count. If you would like to vote, please log in and do so. Thanks! --CocoaZen 03:09, 6 Oct 2005 (UTC) wikicities:user talk:CocoaZen
- I'm asking leaders from Wikia nominated to be Featured to go ahead and create the "blurbs" that will be used if their Wikia wins. See Forum:Featured Wikia -- proposed changes for more information about how to create a blurb and how it will be used. Best wishes, CocoaZen 04:01, 23 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Proposal for a Civil Society Quarter page on central Wikicities
Hi Tom... Wondered if you might be interested in a proposal currently on the central Wikicities site, and associated discussion, exploring possibilities for greater co-operation and collaboration specifically between 'Civil Society' type wikicities (or wikicities on the slightly more serious type topics i.e. probably not gaming, sci fi etc). People new to wikicities and just seeing the most active section on the wikicities main page might conclude that there's not much (or enough) in it for them in if they're more interested in the slightly more serious stuff. The proposal is: Proposal for a Civil Society Quarter page. If you're able to take a look, or actually support the proposal if you feel able to, that'd be great! Thanks, Regards Philralph 13:55, 8 Nov 2005 (UTC) ps Please feel free to pass on this message to others if you feel it appropriate.
[edit] Fixed display issue
That was a very odd bug, Tom! I think I fixed it, by fixing the syntax of some CSS used on the page, but that code shouldn't be affecting the logo or the ads or anything, and it doesn't look like that particular syntax has been changed in the most recent edits. I don't know why it would suddenly be causing problems, but mending it seems to have fixed the page display. Please let me know if you are still seeing any problems.
By the way, I thought you might like to know you can link to Wikipedia articles by using the code [[Wikipedia:Article name]].
Please let me know if you need anything else — Catherine o' the ComTeam 03:51, 5 June 2007 (UTC)
